  • 35th Annual Car Rally - Let's Rally for Kids

For nearly 35 years, the Let’s Rally for Kids annual car rally has united ralliers from all across Ontario in a 2-day team-building rally race event! In this exciting event, contestants work together with their team of two to four people, solve puzzles, drive
to special checkpoints that each has a challenge, and navigate the roads with special instructions. The competition is fierce and fun and with over 40 teams vying for the chance to be crowned the Competitive and Recreational trophy winners.

When the rally is over, the rest of the fun is just getting started! Our amazing evening festivities include a dinner, dance, 50/50 draw, and silent auction. Then, after dancing well into the wee hours of the day, our teams get to enjoy an overnight stay at a charming local hotel, and get to celebrate their victories over coffee in the lobby!
Best of all, all proceeds raised by the event are split 50/50 between two local charities: the Shine Foundation and Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity.

  • RE:Connect Brings Circular Living to Peterborough

Clean Up Peterborough will host RE:Connect on October 29, 2025, as part of Canada’s Circular Economy Month. This free, family-friendly event celebrates community, sustainability, and circular living at the Morrow Building in R.A. Memorial Park. Running from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the event — inspired by the success of Toronto’s REmarket — will bring together more than 25 organizations, services, and changemakers to showcase practical solutions and programs for reusing, repairing, and reducing waste.

RE:Connect highlights community resources that keep valuable items out of landfill and put them back into local hands. Throughout the day, you’ll find opportunities to explore, learn, and connect:

    • Community Collections – Drop off a long list of items from multiple free reuse and recycling programs, all in one convenient place.

    • Sharing & Access – Discover community-driven solutions like tool libraries, borrowing/rental programs, and exchange opportunities that make it easier to share resources.

    • Local Changemakers – Connect with businesses, artists, and organizations turning waste into resources and inspiring new ways of living sustainably.

    • Hands-On Learning & Demonstrations – See local groups in action through demonstrations, quick assessments, and conversations on repair, reuse, and waste reduction.

    • Community Resources – Explore year-round programs like Repair Café Peterborough, OPIRG’s FreeMarkets, and B!KE’s membership model, with opportunities to get involved in ongoing circular economy initiatives.

    • Family Learning – Encouraging families to learn together about building a more sustainable Peterborough.

Be part of something impactful — where community and circularity meet.

RE:Connect is more than an event — it’s a community-building celebration of circularity in action. Whether you swap, share, educate, or inspire, your participation helps shape a stronger, more sustainable future. Full collection guidelines for the reuse and recycling programs are available for download in the Files section of the Clean Up Peterborough Facebook page and linked through the RE:Connect event page : https://tinyurl.com/mnnm2xy7

  • "Bright Lights" concert - Peterborough Symphony Orchestra

The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra (PSO) is excited to kick off the 2025-2026 season with a concert filled with “Bright Lights.” The concert will feature the instantly recognizable Overture to the Barber of Seville, a comical mini-masterpiece by Rossini and wraps up with Mozart’s final Symphony, no. 41 called “Jupiter.” The symphony perfectly joins the mind and the soul in one of the greatest works ever written.

Under the direction of Music Director Michael Newnham, the orchestra will play Canadian composer, Dinuk Wijertane’s Concerto for Tabla and Orchestra. Guest artist Shawn Mativetsky joins the PSO for the first time, having played this work under the baton of the composer. The exciting new concerto will be the first time the orchestra will have featured a tabla. Wijertane’s clear, lucid and rhythmic style provides a perfect pairing to the Rossini and the Mozart.

The concert will be held at Showplace Performance Centre starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st. Come early (6:45 p.m.) to listen to Maestro Newnham’s pre-concert talk. You will be entertained, and you may learn something new about a composer or a piece of music!

Regular single ticket prices range from $36 - $57 and special pricing is available for students.

Come and enjoy the glow of the “Bright Lights”!

More information is available at www.thepso.org/bright-lights. Contact the PSO at 705-742-1992.

Help us solve the mystery... or the future of this fete is doomed.
